Apollo Hospitals, Visakhapatnam, has completed 25 robotic knee replacement surgeries using the Velys Robotic Arm, becoming one of the fastest teams to achieve this milestone.
Led by Dr. V Ravi Chandra, their team, along with Dr Raghu Yelavarthi has demonstrated that robotic-assisted surgeries offer superior precision, faster recovery, and better patient outcomes. With operative times averaging around 75 minutes, comparable to traditional methods, Apollo Hospitals has shown that the learning curve for this technology is minimal, making robotic assistance a valuable asset for orthopaedic surgeons.
“We have become one of the fastest teams to reach this milestone, with our operative times averaging around 78 minutes, comparable to traditional methods,” said Dr Ravi chandra. “Our experience shows that the learning curve for this technology is minimal, with significant improvements seen within the first few surgeries,” he stated in a statement.
